Snow snow and more snow

As most of you know the East Coast was slammed with a huge snow storm. It was a good excuse to stay in and have some hot chocolate, or so we thought. Cameron's friend "Big Bloom" from the Air Force Academy flew in and Cameron drove into DC to pick him up and bring him back out here. When Cameron left to go pick him up this is what it looked like outside:

As you can see our explorer is covered even up around the tires. Cameron took the Escape to pick Bloom up which was good since that car has 4 wheel drive. He said Felicity (that's the name of the Escape) did great and he only slid a couple times, and that was because the roads were really bad! Thankfully he made it back just fine!
Then this morning we needed to dig the explorer out because my brother and his family are coming up to stay before they fly out tomorrow, and oh my goodness- it was an adventure. In the pictures we are standing next to the car and we aren't even touching the ground because the snow is packed under us! We got the car dug out and in the process we got our workout for the day!

We thought it would be fun to take Colby out in the snow, however we were worried that if we put him down at all we would loose him because there is at least 20 inches. So instead Colby took a nap and Cameron and I grabbed shovels and got to work! Seems like everything came to screeching halt. Airports were closed and church was canceled. We are just glad that Cameron drove safe out there and that we didn't loose power! I love the snow, but this is a little over the top for me!
