Birthday Party

Colby was a very lucky boy this year. He got an extended birthday party. The first weekend we were here in Texas, Colby's Aunt Tabatha and Uncle Clay and cousins Carson and Connor came up from San Antonio for a birthday party for Colby. Carson was so excited to come up and celebrate "Baby Colby's" birthday. So excited that he wanted to get him a cake-however with our track record of birthday cakes, we opted for birthday cupcakes. I think we were all hoping that he wouldn't be as afraid of the cupcakes as he was of his birthday cake. At first it all was going great...we were singing the Happy Birthday song and he was smiling...
But then, we headed down a familiar road...one that began with tears...
However, that didn't stop his cousins from enjoying the birthday cupcakes
Then it was time for presents, which helped cheer him up...
Even though the evening started with tears, as you can see it ended with smiles and laughs. Colby enjoyed playing with his cousins and his new toys all night! What a lucky kid! Thanks Nonnie and Poppie for the great gifts and for the fun with cousins and Aunts and Uncles. Love you all!

I think there are untold stories of child torture by cake that you are not sharing with everyone Lindsay. I saw the fear in his eyes when the cake got close. That had to come from somewhere! Maybe birthday number 2 should be a pie year? I'm just sayin'...
