Yesterday Cameron and I had a "first" together since being married for 2 years now! We went to a concert together. My great friend and co-worker, Lauren had tickets to the Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley concert that she wasn't didn't want. So because she is a great friend she gave the tickets to Cameron and I. It was 6 pm and the concert started at 7:30- we still had to get there and fight the concert traffic. As we headed out we thought how much fun this would be and how great it was because it was free! However, as we made our way towards the concert we encountered a massive rain and lightning storm. We both kind of just looked at each other and laughed, but continued. However, we were very very unprepared. This was an outdoor concert and we had lawn seats, and all we brought was a blanket and a small umbrella. We made it through the traffic (which took forever), and parked and walked in through the mud in our flip flops to again fight the crowd to get in the gate. (Oh ya since we didn't have a poncho or tarp or anything we did have the huge love sac in the back of the car so we took off the outdoor cover that was on the love sac and brought that to put down first and then put the blanket on that so hopefully our butts wouldn't get too wet) We got through and then I noticed that we had to walk up this HUGE flight of stairs (just as a reminder I am wearing flip flops that are soaking wet and about to fall off, with rain pouring down...oh ya and 8 months pregnant). We made it to the top and found a small patch of grass surrounded by some very interesting people and set up where we would sit. Since it was still raining we ended up putting the love sac cover down and the blanket and sat under the umbrella. Here is the fun picture of us at the concert under the umbrella.

As you can see from the picture both Cameron and my hair is pretty wet along with our shirts...but you can also see we are still smiling. Soon it started to let up and we were able to stand and watch the concert without the rain...however we still had the lightning overhead, which was scary since we were in an open field, but so cool to watch the bolts light up the purple sky! We were able to see the end of the open act, Dierks Bentley, and then watched/listened to most of Brad's set, but left early to avoid the worst of the traffic. All in all it was a great night and so fun to go to a concert with Cameron. Although I have to admit I didn't know as many of the songs as Cameron did (which was also a first), but I still had a good time and hey you can't beat a free concert!

As you can see from the picture, we were pretty far up and away from the stage, but again it was free and although I had my reservations about the night I still had a great time and I was with my best friend and love of my life...can't beat that!
PS Baby Sanders loved it too...I think he was rockin out in my tummy! It was funny...pretty sure this kid is going to love music!
