Colby's Friends
It seems that no matter where we go Colby seems to make friends with everyone. They come up to him and talk to him, tickle him, and try and get him to smile. However, it doesn't always work. Colby usually has a look on his face that I have interpreted to say "Uh...who are you and why are talking to me in that strange voice". There are 2 people that he absolutely loves and adores. When I was back home for the funeral I had a few times where I needed to find him a babysitter. Some great friends, who are more like an extension of our family, were gracious enough to watch Colby. But to them he is not Colby...he is Axel. Ever since Colby was born they have called him that and I think they will call him that forever. Mark and Debbie are such wonderful people and have been like second parents in my life, so it's been a blessing to see how much Colby..oops Axel also loves being with them and spending time with them. He could spend probably all day with them and not miss me one bit. Especially Mark! He and Mark are buddies and Colby is so calm and at ease with him. So even though the words just don't do what they have done justice...Thank you Mark and Debbie. I know little Axel misses you already and can't wait to see you all again soon!

I miss my Axel. You do know that your Mom and I are conspiring to get Axel up to the cabin in August, don't you? Of course, you are expected to chaperone him. Thanks for letting us practice our grandparenting skills. Nobody died so I guess we passed Level 1 training. What a boy!
what a sweet tribute to some wonderfully dear friends. Yesterday was a HUGE cry-fest as it was our last fast sunday & both dad & I bore our testimonies. Then afterwards I told Deb to look at your blog & she cried again... thanks for doing the blog - I know she was thrilled - of course... her comment was.."A friend would have told me what a bad hair day I was having!" ha! love you....mom
