Brings back memories

I am sure most of you would expect to have Part 2 of our Texas trip but this is a post that will probably give you a lot of laughs (at least the pictures)! The volleyball tournament that we went to while we were in Dallas was called The Lone Star Classic. What is interesting about this is that 11 years ago I was at the same tournament. A lot has changed since I played volleyball in that tournament. A few examples:
- The location (when I played it was in Austin and now it's in Dallas)
- The girls no longer exchange gifts at the beginning of each match
- The uniforms are much better (probably because they didn't have 2 male coaches pick them out)
- The girls seem much smaller than when I was there (or maybe at the time I was just small too?)
- The third day of play the teams all wear pink to support breast cancer
- The banner for the tournament is much better- just like the uniforms

Some things however haven't changed:
- The ref's still STINK at making the right calls
- They still charge an arm and a leg for all the food
- The parents of the opponents team are still obnoxious
- You can tell who the college scouts are (they wear their schools polo shirt and wear a distinct pass around their neck)
- The fun from not only playing but being with friends!

So even though these pictures are on the more comical side I will share them with you anyway! Here are a few pictures of then and now at this tournament!

THEN- The traditional Team Shot

NOW- (This is Terryn's volleyball team)
THEN- Having fun with girls on the team
NOW- Terryn and her teammates waving to all their many fans! (She is #13)
THEN- The Tournament Banner (another picture of my old team)
NOW- The Tournament Banner
Ok so as I said before at least the old pictures of me would give you a good laugh. Gotta love the bangs and glasses and oh ya can't forget the hideous uniforms our male coaches picked out! Those were the worst things ever! Even with all the changes to the game and tournament- being there it brought back some great memories! I had so much fun watching Terryn- she is a great player- Thanks Terryn for letting us come and cheer you on and for the walk down memory lane!
